Ok, so I promise, no more posts about Wilma the wonder dog for at least....um, awhile. But I had to share this, it really is too cute. It happens every morning Monday thru Friday, and rates real high on the "adorable-melt-your-heart-puppy-stories"scale. (There is one of these you know, so if you've been resisting the urges to let a little dog into your life, you better not read this....Jessi!) Let me set the scene up for you: The bus comes to pick up Leah, Jord and Dane every morning promptly at 7:30 am. It is always a dramatic and stressful time in our home....only compounded by the fact that these same little people roll out of their wee beds at 7:00 am. In that very productive 1/2 hour we squeeze in scripture study....meaningful scripture study, that is, breakfast, family prayer, and a mad dash to find socks, shoes and backpacks. At precisely 7:25, I stand guard at the window to warn the kids when the bus has turned on our road. Because you don't want to miss the bus. No one ever wants to make mom that mad. Anyway, when I see the bus, I yell out"Here's the BUS!" (Yes, I am a creative genius, thank you.) At which point the kids run from all corners of the house in a mad frenzy to be the first one out of the door. While all of this choas is happening, Wilma quietly walks to the bay window and sits there watching her best friends in all the world being swallowed by the big yellow vehicle, and making little sad doggie noises. She sits there and watches long after the bus has left probably hoping it will turn around and spit them back out again. Here is the picture I took this morning:

Now, come on, be truthful...isn't that just way too cute?!

That IS way too cute. Maybe when all of my children get on the bus I'll contemplate getting a dog to keep me company while they are gone. :)
Yes! I am so glad you will take care of Wilma and tell me adorable stories about her. Then I can have a dog by proxy! (No dog food to buy, no shots, no dog hair to vacuum up, no doggie breath. What a deal!) And then on top of all that I get to read wonderful stories written by a professional-level writer who always makes me smile. Am I lucky or what!!??
You're living the dream, Michelle!
What awesome pictures! I love when the world turns blue in the winter...And Wilma is so cute! I'm glad she's such a happy part of your family.
Hate to say it Kjirsten, but I am with Michelle on this. We love visiting your home and getting our animal fix. I love the picture. My only experience with dogs was a crazy one that was a bit of a baby. Maybe if I had a Wilma growing up I would be more willing to have animals around the house.
All you could come up with is "Here's the bus." Come on Kjirsten!
